David Simmer

Senior Pastor

David was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan.  After graduating from Grace Bible College (now Grace Christian University) in 2012, he and his wife, Bree, moved to Newaygo where he served as Youth Pastor for six years.  He enjoys being outdoors, reading, drinking fine coffee, soccer, cooking, and traveling with his wife, daughter and two sons.
Pastor David said his passion is to "equip God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up (Ephesians 4:12)." He loves to help people grow in understanding the powerful and restorative work of Christ in the lives of individuals and in the world.

Christopher (Bud) Moore

Youth Pastor

Christopher grew up in Stanton, Michigan.  He is currently pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies at Grace Christian University.  He absolutely loves connecting with people and hearing their story.  When not in the church, you can find him hanging out with friends and family, playing guitar, disc golfing, or spending time with his fiance, Maddison, who he met at GCU.  He also greatly enjoys sports and being active, both in the gym and out in nature!

He said his passion is "to grow the community of Christ in any circumstance I am given, and bring the good news of reconciliation to all as an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).  We all have been given the opportunity to experience God's Grace every day, and I love to see lives changed by the gracious, never ending love of Christ."

Laura Weaver

Christian Education Director

Laura, raised here in Newaygo, lives in Fremont with her husband, Mike, and their two children.  As a creative person, Laura enjoys being a Cosmetologist and cut flower farmer in addition to being a stay at home mom.   She and her family also love to get outside together camping, boating, cooking, gardening, and just exploring God's creation.

Laura is passionate about sharing the gospel and the heart of God with children, coming alongside parents and caregivers to equip their children for a lifelong relationship and faith in God.  Her desire for the children of the church and community is to truly know God and his great love for them, to know what He has done for them and for children to respond in awe and wonder as they allow Jesus to be Lord over their lives.  It is a gift to be able to build community among our youngest believers and equip them through God's word to go out in to the world and shine their light for Christ.  (and have lots of fun in the process!)
